Wilson Witham was seen as a kind man tall with ice blue eyes. What we know was that he was a logger and in the spring worked on the drive, floating logs down river to the mills.

He also would hunt wild game for the logging camp. It was said that unknown to him he had killed some of the last Caribou that was in Maine. He trapped fur and had a camp for that purpose where he also made barrel hoops made of White Ash.

He made snowshoes and even made baskets woven with White Ash my cousin George's mother had one as a clothesbasket she would carry to the clothesline. George's Dad said he learned how to do this from some Indians that he lived with some times.

George's sisters said they saw a picture of him with a fur coat he had made to wear in the winter. After my dad passed we looked everywhere and never could find it.

Wilson married five times, Wilson moved around a lot different logging camps etc. different wives. It would seem that Wilson lived a busy and varied life. I wonder where he was buried.
